What’s The Problem?
Graphic design is often described as a discipline characterised by questions, problems, and solutions – phrases such as ‘problem-solving’, ‘design thinking’ and ‘thinking in systems’ are commonly used to explain what a graphic designer does. The brief was to firstly observe and define a ‘problem’, to then collect information about your chosen problem, and lastly propose and communicate an intervention / response / solution to the problem you have defined.
I worked with Tamlyn to create video which was a play on youtube ‘what’s in my bag’ videos with sustainable alternatives. The problem being unsustainable products that people use on the day to day, and how they can easily make a more conscious effort to change that. We thus created the ‘what’s in my bag’ video with different characters and researched products that the audience could use.
