For my final project at Camberwell College of Arts, I explored the notion of being a Bengali diaspora, primarily focusing on immigration.

My research discussed the history of the Bangladeshi community within London. From how immigration is an outcome from the Independance War in 1970, to the rise of Banglatown in Brick Lane; involving the politics, racism and resistance that came with it.
Post project, I’ve come to the conclusion that I will no longer make art about being a diaspora as I believe it doesn’t define my practice.
